Isar
The Isar crosses the city for about 14 km from south-west to north-east. It is Munich's main recreation space, with official bathing and boating zones (see Swimming and boating in the Isar).
Munich gauge (Pegel München, 16005701)
Operated by the Bavarian Environment Agency (LfU). It reports water level, discharge and water temperature every 15 minutes. The flood warning levels (Meldestufen) are:

On 25 September 2026 at 16:00 the gauge read 91 cm, 21.6 m³/s and 15.1 °C: far below any warning level.
